Kaziranga National Park
Tourism in North East India is incomplete without the mention of Kaziranga National Park. Located in Assam, the park covers an area of 430 Sq.Km. Being marked as a wildlife destination of international significance, Kaziranga is loaded with the most exotic as well as the 15 most endangered species of wildlife. One-horned rhinoceros which is labeled as an endangered species finds its home in Kaziranga which boasts of nurturing the highest number of rhinoceroses on the planet. This national park caters to its tourists from November to April. Being one of the finest places to be visited in North East India, Kaziranga National Park looks all the more appealing due to its location on the banks on river Brahmaputra. The thick vegetation cover of the park is majorly occupied by elephant grass and marshy swamps. Animals like jackal, leopard, python, tiger and elephant find Kaziranga as their comfort home.
