Gangtok By Road

One can find number of regular Sikkim state transport buses which ply its services between Gangtok and Siliguri. One can also hire private buses, jeeps and taxis from Siliguri and Bagdogra.

The closest railways are located in New Jalpaiguri, New Jalpaiguri which is 117 km far from Gangtok. The railway station is well linked with both major and minor parts of the country. Most of the visitors prefer to reach Gangtok via railways.

If you are planning to reach Gangtok via airways then the nearest airport is in Bagdogra, West Bengal. The total distance between Bagdogra and Gangtok is around 124 km. This major airport is well connected with all the major cities in India. One can also opt for helicopter services operated by the Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation which offers daily services from Bagdogra to Gangtok and will only takes about 20 minutes to reach.
Hanuman Tok
Hanuman Tok is a Hindu temple complex which is located in the upper reaches of Gangtok, the capital of the Indian state of Sikkim. The temple is dedicated to lord Hanuman, the Monkey God, and maintained by the Indian army.
Banjhakri Falls
Situated 4km away from Gangtok on the way to Ranka Monastery, the Ban Jhakri Falls is a picturesque Energy Park. Surrounded by abundant greenery and the beautiful mountain rivers, it is perfect for sightseeing. The park spreads over an area of about 2 acres and is considered to be a popular destination among tourists.
Ban Jhakri falls follows Shamanistic theme, while its location amidst the forest augments the essence of its beauty. The park is decorated with figurines and ethnic statuettes of the famous Jhakri civilization. Adding to its beauty, a waterfall with a smooth track to wander around is well laid out in its premises.
